Box Sash Windows

Traditional Cords, Weights, and Pulley System
Timber Box Sash Windows
Designed for Easy Maintenance and Lasting Performance
A favourite with architects, planning authorities and preservation societies, the Box Sash uses a traditional system of cords, weights, and heavy-duty ball-bearing pulleys and pre-stretched nylon cords. Distinctive deep moulded internal profiles are available in a variety of options with elegant glazing bars to match whichever style you choose.
Typically, a Box Sash window is set back into a 'rebated reveal' construction, with the box frame discreetly hidden behind external brickwork or stone. However, for properties that celebrate their heritage features, box frames can also be positioned proudly at the façade, complemented with a decorative architrave.
Available across all three of our product ranges, the Timber Box Sash window offers toughened glass, double and triple glazing, achieving PAS24 standards in new builds. For listed or heritage buildings, the opportunity to achieve the natural appearance of hand-blown, single glazing is also possible, in addition to hand-faced external putty and true bars, just as the originals would have been.
