In a previous article, we explored how we work with developers across the UK to streamline building projects. In this article, we’ll focus on how the team at Mumford & Wood supports architects, from navigating tight deadlines and technical specifications to ensuring compliance with building regulations when specifying timber windows and doors.
The detail-oriented service we offer at Mumford & Wood is designed to provide peace of mind throughout architectural projects. From trickle vents and cavity closers to U-values and glazing options, we’ve built our approach around the specific needs of architects.

Key Challenges for Architects
Regulatory Compliance
Architects must ensure designs meet current building regulations, and this is where we step in. Our expert team is highly knowledgeable about compliance requirements. All our products are manufactured to meet the latest regulations, and we provide the technical documentation and support needed to avoid delays and keep your projects on track.
Tight Deadlines
We understand the pressure to deliver projects quickly. That’s why we offer a free take-off service and quotation within 5–7 working days. All we need are your plans and a quick discussion, and we’ll get started right away.
Risk Management
Budget overruns are a constant challenge. At Mumford & Wood, we honour our quotations, whether you’re ready to proceed next week or in six months. Once you receive your quote, the price remains fixed until sign-off. We also provide expert guidance during contract sign-off to reduce uncertainty.
How We Work With Architects
CPD Courses
We offer a free CPD course specifically designed for architects, providing valuable learning on compliance, timber performance, design flexibility, and how to specify high-quality timber windows and doors with confidence.
Let’s Talk Details
We’ll go over the details of your projects with you, focusing on the following areas:
Trickle Vents
Trickle ventilation is required in all new builds under Part F building regulations. Mumford & Wood was the first UK manufacturer to design veneered timber trickle vents, which are colour-matched and fully concealed, delivering ventilation without compromising design.
Cavity Formers
Cavity closers are essential for new-build compliance and site efficiency. Our cavity formers are custom-made to your specifications, providing insulation, preventing damp ingress, and giving installers pre-defined apertures to speed up the project.
Quality Timber
We use slow-grown Scandinavian timber, selected for its density, stability, and resilience in harsh weather. Engineered using finger jointing and multiple bonded layers, our timber offers longevity, aesthetic warmth, and excellent sustainability credentials. With a lifespan of 60–80 years, it far outperforms uPVC alternatives.
U-Values
U-values are essential to achieve SAP ratings and Energy Performance Certificates. Our products exceed the U-value thresholds required for new builds, helping projects meet Part L standards while offering superb thermal efficiency.
Colour Choices
Choose from 210 RAL Classic colours, bespoke stain finishes, and dual-colour options. We can match virtually any colour you require, and our team will happily provide physical swatches to help you visualise the final finish.
Glazing Options
Choose from laminated, acoustic, self-cleaning, and solar control glass. Our standard units feature a 16mm cavity between 4mm panes, with Krypton, Argon, or Xenon available to enhance both thermal and sound insulation.
Complimentary Site Visits
We offer free site visits, during which our experienced team will assess the project in person and advise on cavity closers, ventilation, and sizing. Our commitment to responsiveness and technical accuracy means you get the support you need, when you need it.
